Sharrows are a relatively new concept in Bicycle Facility Design. The typical Sharrow, as seen below, is a bicycle logo and two chevrons painted on the street. The purpose of these road markers is to remind cyclists and motorists alike that bicycles have an equal-right to the road while indicating the presence of a bicycle route.

The first Sharrows to be added to the City of Cleveland’s road network can be found along Franklin Avenue on the City’s near-west side.
These Sharrows were installed in May of 2008 by the City’s Traffic Engineering Department.
